Sport is essential to the wellbeing and culture of British Columbia and a contributing factor to the social and economic health of communities and individuals in all corners of the province.
Inequity in sport participation is a systemic issue and disproportionally affects Indigenous Peoples, Women and Girls, 2SLGBTQIA+ People, Racialized Communities, Persons People with Disabilities, Low-income People and Families, and Newcomers.
When more people can participate, communities are more connected and healthier.
We co-design program models with provincial sport organizations, multi-sport organizations, local clubs, community agencies, charities and foundations, and people with lived experience.
We support the development of proven models and package them so they can be replicated and scaled across more places in BC. We collaborate across sectors to connect organizations, and engage private and public partners to support the development of initiatives that reduce or remove barriers to sport participation, especially for those who need it most.
We equip coaches, leaders, and volunteers with skills they can use right away. The result is they can deliver their programs more confidently so that participants stay engaged.
